My name is Simone and I am a gorgeous, 2-year old Dobergirl.  I currently live with another dog in my foster home, but really, will do best in a home where I do not have to share the affections of my people with any other dogs.  I am such a sweet girl!

    Hi, my name is Rose, but some people call me Mama Rose. I came to Lean On     Me all the way from North Carolina, where I gave birth to my 7 babies and lived     on the side of the road in a ditch taking care of them for 3 weeks.....in the middle     of winter! Someone saw us and called animal control, but when they came for     my puppies, they could not find me. They did come back later and of course I     was there, looking frantically for them. A kind rescuer in North Carolina begged     Lean On Me to help us all because we were going to be euthanized. So, me     and my 7 babies (see the adopted dogs page) made the long trip to Illinois. My     babies found magnificent homes so quickly, now it's my turn! See the picture of     me and one of my puppies sleeping taken on 2/24/09 - I really am such a good     mom!

    The veterinarian thinks I am about 2 1/2 years old. I am just the sweetest little     lady, weighing only 40 pounds. I love to play with toys - which I will toss for myself!  I also LOVE my people and I love to cuddle and curl up on the couch or dog bed and take a nap. Having my belly rubbed makes me so, so happy - I am just the most wonderful companion!  I love to run in the yard with my dog friends and have no problem sharing my toys with them.  I am a very submissive girl.

I can absolutely not live with cats (or probably birds or rabbits!) - no exceptions!  

I was the very best mama to my puppies, but now it is my turn to have a wonderful life. Do you think you could share your home with me? All I want is to be loved. I really am a super, super sweet girl!
